Braille
The West Virginia Correctional Industries Braille Program produces quality Code 2 English Braille materials. The program has the ability to transcribe textbooks, literature, or custom documents (menus, news letters, brochures, etc.) using state of the art computers. All transcriptions are done by Library of Congress certified Braille transcribers.
Unlike other products manufactured by Correctional Industries, a unique feature of the Braille program is the ability to sell its products anywhere in the world. The program has provided Braille materials for various schools, institutions, and businesses for all of the United States as well as Bermuda, Canada, Guam, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The program has over 1,500 textbook titles available for sale, with an average of 25 new titles added each year.
The program is located at the Northern Regional Correctional Center and is headed by Greg Gilli.
